Let’s IMPACT! – Building cohesion and tolerance though performing arts
Rarely a project’s title is so accurate! IMPACT – Inclusion Matters! - using Performing Arts towards Cohesion and Tolerance wants to foster social inclusion through the implementation of strategies, techniques focusing on performing arts. The target of reference is formed by refugees and local citizens, thus fostering inclusion and reducing internal social differences in communities.
The city of Novo Mesto, in Slovenia, hosted the project’s kick-off meeting, on April 9th, 2019. This first transnational meeting lasted three days and was organised by the lead partner VIFIN – Videnscenter for Integration, and DRPDNM.
This event gathers the project partners coming from the European Union and the Western Balkans in order to lay the groundwork for the successful implementation of future activities, aiming at propel awareness raising processes on social inclusion through performing arts.
The meeting was also meant for project partners to acquaint with each other, engage in team building exercises, discuss methodologies and community engagement on local, regional, national and international level in order to maximize the impact of the project.
The project IMPACT is implemented by VIFIN – Videnscenter for Integration in cooperation with ALDA, La Piccionaia – Centre for theatre production, LDA Montenegro, LDA Mostar, Coalition of youth organisations SEGA, Association for Developing Voluntary Work Novo Mesto (DRPDNM) and Urban Development Center supported by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
