Relaunch and strengthening of LDA Shkodra
On 27 May, Aldo Xhani, ALDA project manager, was in Shkodra, Albania to define the state of play of the Local Democracy Agency established in 2009.
The aim of the mission was to prepare a detailed rapport to submit on 28 May to the current and potential new members of the LDA reunited in Tirana to discuss the relaunch and strengthening of the Agency.
ALDA’s representative was welcomed by Mr Ridvan Sokoli and Mr Gentian Mema, from the Department on Development Promotion of the Municipality of Shkodra, as hosting partner of the LDA. The discussions focused on several topics such as the venue of the LDA, the stocking of documents ad financial issues.
The visit was also an occasion to stress once more ALDA’s strategic priority of having a Local Democracy agency in Albania, in particular within the framework of the decentralisation process promoted in the country and the interest submitted by new stakeholders in joining the partnership.
Besides the partner meeting that it will take place in the Pallati I Kultures of Tirana, a set of key meetings have been organised in order to showcase ALDA’s activities in Albania. ALDA’s delegation composed of Mr Bernardo Notarangelo, representative of Apulia Region and member of ALDA’s Governing Board, will meet Mr Enea Hoti, Advisor of Mr Cuci, Minister of State on Local issues. The meeting will be an occasion to present the LDA a key stakeholder in promoting good governance and decentralisation in Albania.
