ALDA celebrates International Youth Day 2015: Employment, Environment & European citizenship at the core of our work with young people
Today, 12th August 2015, we are celebrating the International Youth Day, which was established by the United Nations and first held in 2000.
International Youth Day, which will be focusing on “Youth Civic Engagement” this year, aims to raise public awareness on the current situation of young people, in order to ensure them rights, opportunities and active participation in their communities. A wide range of activities, including concerts and parades are taking place all around the world to celebrate IYD 2015 and underline the role of young people in today’s society.
ALDA, together with its network of LDAs and partners, has always considered the youngsters as fundamental resources for the future of the EU and Neighbourhood countries and has contributed, through its several initiatives and projects, to the economic, social, cultural and professional growth of young people, primarily focusing on three main areas of interest:
- Youth employment & entrepreneurship
- Health, environment & youth
- Youth participation & inclusion in public life
