The "Yes, Today" project on youth employment in Azerbaijan successfully finished
With the support of the Italian Chiesa Valdese Foundation, ALDA has successfully concluded the implementation of the “Yes, Today” project on youth employment in Azerbaijan.
The project targeted Azeri youth in order to support them to acquire skills useful when looking for first employment but also to work together on joint project design and development activities. The 8 young participants travelled to Macedonia in March 2015 to learn about the Macedonian experience aimed at encouraging employment. They were also offered a training on project management cycle, which they could put in practice when implementing the small grant activity in the final phase of this project.
Following the study visit and training, the young participants organised jointly a series of four seminars on youth employment that engaged them actively in transferring their knowledge gained in Macedonia and share their experiences with a wider group of young people thanks to the network of the Public Union “Youth Club”.
The seminars discussed the following topics:
1) "Unemployment and the current situation of the Azerbaijani economy”
2) ''Migration and smuggling due to unemployment"
3) "Employment rates in Azerbaijan and Macedonia: Comparative analysis based on knowledge gained from the Macedonian study visit"
4) "Sharing Macedonian experience on youth employment".
