Promoting youth participation in public life: ALDA at the second coordination meeting of the project YouthMetre
Within the framework of its youth programme and in line with the priority of promoting youth participation in the decision making process at the local and EU level, ALDA was in Zaragoza on 13-14 June to exchange with the partners on the implementation of the project YouthMetre.
YouthMetre is a pilot project funded by the programme Erasmus+ as forward looking tool promoting youth participation across Europe.
The meeting was hosted by the University of Zaragoza and brought together academics and practitioners to exchange views and take key decisions on the successful implementation of the project aimed at providing youngsters with an online tool to better advocate for youth policies at the local level in line with the European Youth Strategy. Aldo Xhani, coordinator of the citizenship programme, represented ALDA and brought in the perspective of local authorities and citizens working together via a territorial approach for the successful development of local communities.
The meeting was an occasion to revise the action plan, agree on its main management mechanisms as well as finalise the dissemination and the monitoring and evaluation strategy. The YouthMetre portal, now available for both youngsters and local authorities, has been showcased as a key output of the project and represents one of the main pillars of its sustainability. All stakeholders are invited to provide feedback on its usability and its capacity of being user friendly.
In line with the Europe2020 Strategy, YouthMetre aims at supporting local authorities in carrying out effective policy reforms in the field of youth and align them to the EU Youth Strategy.
