Santorso Municipality (Italy) and ESCAR Sustainability project
Municipality of Santorso (north-east of Italy) partners in the international ESCAR “European Strategic partnership for Sustainable Consumption and Awareness Raising” project. The municipality is an ALDA member since 2015, and operates in a big area between Alps and Padan plain where almost 100.000 people live.
ESCAR project has involved partners from Sweden, Spain, Denmark and Italy. They have been working on sustainable consumption and as a result produced "Best Practices guide"
Best Practices guide will help you to understand in practice what is a Sustainable consumption. Acting sustainably means to use services and related products in the way that:
- respond to basic needs
- bring a better quality of life
- while minimizing the use of natural resources and toxic materials
- minimizing emissions of waste and pollutants over the life cycle of the service or product
- as the result, not to jeopardize the needs of future generations.
