Homo Homini, People in Need annual human rights award
Supporting a member of our partner EPD, Center for Human Rights Democracy, ALDA is spreading the news that this year, for the twenty-second time, People in Need starts the nomination process for Homo Homini annual human rights award.
Homo Homini 2016 will be awarded during the One World film festival opening event in Prague in March 2017. The award is intended for courageous individuals in recognition of their dedication to the promotion of human rights, democracy and non-violent solutions to political conflicts.
Since 1994, when Homo Homini was first awarded, it is already a very impressive list of outstanding people. They hope to succeed also this year in bringing together a strong list of candidates.
The award is then decided by PIN´s executive board, typically at the beginning of January. The laureate is optimally present in Prague for the award ceremony. If that is not possible, then usually at least someone from his/her close circle comes.
We are proud to support our partnership with EPD, as ALDA Secretary General Antonella Valmorbida is a memebrs of the EPD Board of Directors.
If you have candidate or candidates in mind, you can send the suggestions by November 30. Just a few sentences of who and why is enough. For more information please contact Adéla Pospíchalová firstname.lastname@example.org
