Slovenian local authorities in action
Good governance and European cooperation were at the heart of the meeting with the member municipalities of Grosuplje, Ivančna Gorica and Trebnje.
With the objective to further strengthen the cooperation with our members in 2017, ALDA and the three member municipalities of Grosuplje, Ivančna Gorica and Trebnje met in Slovenia, 10th January, to discuss cooperation projects and synergies for the new year.
The meeting was an opportunity to showcase ALDA’s programme and its set of activities in 2017 and to exchange on how it can complement political priorities of the three Slovenian member municipalities. Education, health care, tourism, intergenerational issues, culture and youth were the main thematic priorities identified for the further cooperation. The encounter was also an occasion to analyse European programmes and to support common actions, such as Interreg, Erasmus+, Creative Europe, LIFE, Horizon2020 with a particular emphasis on the Europe for Citizens programme.
The three municipalities showed a strong interest in promoting European cooperation and being further integrated in ALDA’s network. Thus, the agenda included specific ideas for the projects proposals and a participation plan in the next General Assembly in Torun, Poland. Both delegations look forward to a stronger cooperation in 2017!
