Governing Board meeting in Modena, Italy
The latest Governing Board of ALDA met on 10 February, hosted by the Municipality of Modena, Italy.
The Governing Board of ALDA met on 10 February, hosted by the Municipality of Modena, Italy. The meeting was organized by ALDA Governing Board member Francesco Zarzana, President of the cultural Association Progettarte, headquartered in Modena.
The session started with the introductory words of Ludovica Carla Ferrari, Councillor of the Municipality of Modena, and by Giorgia Bartoli, Councillor of the Municipality of Formigine (Modena, Italy), recent member of ALDA. Their opening words put citizens' engagement, peace, and working in net at the centre of LAs work. For this, they stressed the importance of the work implemented by ALDA, and the wish for further cooperation.
The Governing Board of ALDA decided to adopt by majority the resolution "Changing Course to Europe" of the Italian Council of the European Movement (CIME), and to participate with a political delegation at the events and March in Rome on 24-25 March.
It was also agreed to carry out a mission in Tunisia for the opening of the LDA Kairouan in April, as well as a mission to Morocco in order to begin the preparatory work for the future LDA. Furthermore, dates of the General Assembly in Torun, Poland, have been confirmed (see Mark your agenda for ALDA General Assembly 2017 - Torùn, 10-12 May!).
The Governing Board members completed an intense day of work with the take-home message by the Councillor Ferrari from the host Municipality of Modena: “Your work supports peace”.
