LDA Subotica team, Silvija Patarcic, Delegate and Stanka Parac Damjanovic, ALDA SEE Regional Programme Coordinator, visited the LDA Lead Partner, Wolverhampton City Council, from 28th March – 1st April in the framework of the ALDA Partnership support programme.
The primary aim of the mission was to strengthen and diversify partnerships with CSOs, volunteering, educational and cultural sector, as well as the City Council.
LDA Subotica and Wolverhampton City Council have had a long standing cooperation since 2004, with Wolverhampton being the Lead partner and valuable project associate throughout these years. Having in mind this history of continuous collaboration, the partnership has diversified, involving different stakeholders from the Wolverhampton local community (educational institutions, civil society organizations, charity foundations, etc). This visit was thus an opportunity to strengthen the partnership and establish new links and contacts for different types of collaboration.
The team had fruitful meetings and exchanges with Roger Lawrence, Councillor, Julia Buckley and Catherine Perry, Development Officers, Sam Axtell, Senior Public Servant - Wolverhampton City Council, Martin Dangerfield, Professor, Lynn Leighton-Johnstone, Principal of the International Academy – University of Wolverhampton, Iftikar Karim, Research Manager and Richard Overton, Business Support Officer – All Saints Action Network ASAN and Carla Priddon, Programme Manager, Youth Centre The Way. These meetings were an opportunity for ideas and experience sharing, activity planning and potential joint projects development.
Furthermore, a walking city tour was organized with the member of the City Regeneration team, presenting the urban development plans and future prospects of Wolverhampton.
The mission was a valuable learning experience and essential for sustaining the stability and good outlooks of the partnership, especially for future project proposals development to be followed by the LDA Subotica team and local partners in Wolverhampton.
