Morocco: Adopted the final declaration on International Forum of Social and Solidarity Economy
Within the framework of the International Forum of Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) titled "Commitment, Citizenship and Development: How to train in the Social and Solidarity Economy?”, a number of organizations from Morocco and other African countries adopted its final declaration. Among them, the association REMESS, member of ALDA.
The International Forum of SSE was held in Marrakech, from 22 to 24 May, and brought together 380 participants from 22 countries, 55 universities, 87 SSE structures (associations, cooperatives, mutual societies, foundations), as well as associations of elected representatives of the African continent. A total of 180 speakers (researchers, students and SSE participants) presented their work, exchanging and debating with all the participants.
The meetings highlighted the insufficient spaces for exchange and dialogue between academics and practitioners of North and South Africa, having in common a French-speaking cultural vocation, but also underlined the need to use new tools and innovative methods in trainings.
The co-creation of a common platform for the sharing of information, knowledge and experience is seen as an opportunity encouraging the implementation of solidarity-based projects, and appears to be a good method of collaboration.
The signatories of the declaration propose to continue the ongoing processes, in order to renew the opportunities of cross-participation in events organized in the framework of cooperation between stakeholders from Africa and Europe, as well as worldwide.
The signatories of the adopted declaration are the following:
• The 2DLiS Network, the University of Haute-Alsace and the Cadi Ayyad University of Marrakech
• The Moroccan Network of SSE (REMESS)
• The Inter-University Network of the SSE (RIUSSE)
• The African SSE Network (RASSE)
• The RIPSSE-solidarity economy Europe
