From Moldova to Georgia a common goal: empower Decentralised Cooperation
An important delegation made up of our members coming from the Eastern Partnership countries where ALDA constantly works attended the 5th Assises of Decentralised Cooperation in Brussels, on 10 and 11 July 2017.
Two Mayors of cities hosting Local Democracy Agencies have been with us these days: the Mayor of Kutaisi (Georgia), Mr. Shota Murghulia, and the Mayor of Cimișlia (Moldova), Mr. Gheorghe Raileanu, together with the President of the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova (CALM), Mrs. Tatiana Badan, and Mr. Alexandru Osadci, representing CALM in ALDA's Governing Board.
Decentralised cooperation means getting really closer to Europe by strengthening local authorities and fostering good governance. ALDA, with its President Mr. Oriano Otočan, understands the importance of decentralised cooperation and is investing its energies to improve the actions of good governance and citizen participation.
