ALDA Country meeting! Belgian and Dutch members and partners gather in Brussels
ALDA gathered some of its Belgium and Dutch members on October the 12th 2017 in the city of Brussels. Antonella Valmorbida, Secretary General of ALDA, and Mattia Brazzale, ambassador of ALDA, presented the work of the Organization.
Representatives from EAVI (European Association for Viewers Interests), Basque Country Delegation for EU, ECIT Foundation (European Citizen’s Rights, Involvement and Trust) and EPA (European Projects Association) assisted the meeting together with a representative from Gipuzkoa region.
Mrs Valmorbida introduced ALDA's work as a project oriented association which currently counts more than 250 members. ALDA is capable of creating and managing important projects and ideas, as the Secretary-General described: “We work with the members to find out what they need. It is a one to one dialogue with them in order to improve local governance.”
In Belgium and the Netherlands there are around 40 active ALDA members. The event was an opportunity to discuss together how to enhance our cooperation through an active involvement of local members and other stakeholders. In the words of Mrs Valmorbida: “No one of us has all the answers. We need to cooperate and take actions together. We need to share our thoughts, only then we can find innovative solutions and open the door to new ideas". During the meeting, new strategies and common actions forward were coordinated by ALDA and its members.
ALDA carries out approximately 30 projects per year around the European Country and neighbouring countries, thanks to the cooperation with its Local Agencies. Around 25 million people are currently directly or indirectly impacted by ALDA's programs.
