A EUROPEAN VOLUNTEER JOINS THE TEAM IN THE ALDA OFFICE IN SKOPJE
Within the “Europe locally” project, launched by the Coalition of youth organizations SEGA and the French association SENOIS, a volunteer from Lower Normandy was welcomed in the ALDA Office in Skopje.
The volunteer joined the team in November 2012 and will stay there until October 2013.
During the 12 months, the volunteer will write reports and articles on the current economic, political and social affairs in Macedonia in order to keep the French partners informed of the situation in the territory with which they cooperate. Through exchanges with the partners and visits in the two territories, the volunteer will inform the cooperation stakeholders about volunteering and intercultural exchanges.
Encouraging young people to become volunteers and promoting active citizenship through youth exchanges are among the objectives of the decentralised cooperation programme. Volunteering is important because in that way young people might easily integrate the professional life.
The “Europe locally” project is financed through the European Union programme “Youth in Action” and by the National Agency for European Educational Programmes and Mobility. The project was realized in partnership between the Coalition of youth organizations SEGA, the association SENOIS, the Regional Council of Lower Normandy, the European House in Caen and the Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA).
