Support for networking and twinning at European level – Training for town twinning in Sremski Karlovci near Novi Sad, Serbia 27th and 28th of February
In the framework of the project Support for networking and twinning at European level, financed by the European Union, IPA CBC Programme Croatia-Serbia, an international training was held in Sremski Karlovci on the 27th and 28th of February.
This training is aimed at enhancing the capacity of municipalities and cities in the border regions of Serbia and Croatian effective collaboration and networking with municipalities and cities in the regional and European level and contributing to fostering active citizenship in local communities.
The training brought together 15 representatives from 12 cities and municipalities in the border area of Croatia and Serbia who had the opportunity to learn about the objectives and the funding possibilities of the Europe for Citizens programme, which were presented by the experienced coach Marco Boaria, ALDA Resource and Development Unit Coordinator and Suzana Mackovic senior trainer from Serbia. Special emphasis was put on two measures related to cooperation and networking between cities.
Participants also had the opportunity to work in groups and develop a project idea that could be formed into a joint project in the coming deadlines for submission of proposals and thus further contribute to mutual collaboration.
The representatives of local communities were given the opportunity to establish contacts with colleagues from Serbia and Croatia and familiarize themselves with the possibilities of cooperation within Europe for Citizens Programme for which both countries are now eligible.
