Oriano Otočan rewarded with European Projects Award for his contribution to the local and regional development
In the framework of Open Days – 11th European Week of Regions and Cities, European Projects Association (EPA) rewarded actors that, during the period 2007-2013, played a relevant role in the field of regional and local development. The ceremony was held in premises of the European Parliament in Brussels.
Among the influential actors, the award went to the President of ALDA Oriano Otočan, who is also the head of Department for International Cooperation and European Affairs of the Region of Istria. Otočan pointed out that Region of Istria is Croatia's most developed region which implemented more than 320 projects financed from European and other International funds, which are extremely important for the development of the region.
Also the Vice-President of the Committee of the Regions Mercedes Bresso and President of Region Marche Gian Mario Spacca were awarded for their work.
Prizes were awarded in the framework of EPA Conference 2013 on Perspectives of territorial cooperation 2014-2020 - Expectations after Croatian Accession. During the conference, also the projects financed through the Instrument for Pre-Accession having an important impact at the local level received awards.
