ALDA supports other stakeholders – local and regional authorities, civil society organizations, educational institutions – by providing a wide range of services such as training and capacity building activities, technical assistance, and ad hoc consultancy on different topics, including: project development and implementation, project financial management and audit, EU institutions, EU funds and programmes, citizens participation (methods and techniques), non formal youth education.
These services are provided with a tailor-made approach, thus target the specific needs of the partners involved.
The European Association for Local Democracy is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to the promotion of good governance and citizen participation at the local level. ALDA focuses on activities that facilitate cooperation between local authorities and civil society.
In view of the Celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome on the 25th of March, ALDA adopted the declaration “Changing Course to Europe”, drafted by the European Movement Italy. The decision was taken by the majority of the Governing Board members, meeting in Modena (Italy) on 10 February.
The European Coalition of Cities Against Racism (ECCAR) and the AMITIE CODE project present the international contest “AMITIE youth teams for human rights of migrants”.Read more
In January, the European Commission published its third EU Citizenship Report, presenting actions to ensure citizens can fully enjoy their rights when working, travelling, studying or participating in elections.Read more
On Friday 10 February, a delegation of ALDA visited Iaşi Municipality, Romania, to further discuss future cooperation and joint activities.
ALDA is proud to report that our member, Patras municipality, takes an active stand in ARRIVAL CITIES project. Representatives from Patras ULG held a meeting on 8 February 2017 to monitor and futher plan project implementation.Read more
