SUMMARY:10th European Migration Forum – Harnessing Migrants’ Skills in the EU
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nOn 27–28 November 2025, the European Migration Forum convenes in Brussels for its 10th edition, under the theme “Harnessing Migrants’ Skills in the EU.” The European Migration Forum provides a vital space for dialogue between civil society organisations, social partners, and EU institutions on key issues of migration, asylum, and integration.\nOrganised jointly by the European Commission (DG HOME) and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), this annual platform aims to strengthen cooperation and understanding between EU policy-makers and actors on the ground. The 2025 edition will focus on how to promote the skills of non-EU nationals, help employers address labour shortages, and ensure that migrants’ working rights are protected.\nThree major topics will shape the discussions: combating trafficking in human beings for the purpose of labour exploitation; protecting migrant workers while fighting against illegal employment; and maximising the use of EU funds for labour market integration, drawing lessons from past experiences.\nThe forum brings together representatives from civil society organisations, trade unions, local authorities, and EU agencies to exchange ideas and propose concrete recommendations. It provides a unique opportunity to align EU-level strategies with community-level realities, helping to improve policies that impact both migrants and host societies.\nParticipation in the forum is by invitation only. ALDA’s application has been accepted, allowing the organisation to take part in this important discussion and contribute insights from its projects on migration, inclusion, and social cohesion.\nFor official information, visit the European Economic and Social Committee – EMF page. To learn more about ALDA’s engagement on migration and inclusion, explore the Migration and Social Cohesion section on ALDA’s website.\n📍Brussels, Belgium\n\n 📆 27–28 November 2025\n\n\n\n
