SUMMARY:Harnessing Social Inclusion for Rural Resilience in Europe
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nOn 20 November 2025, the Social Inclusion for Rural Resilience workshop will take place in Brussels, gathering EU institutions, policy-makers, and civil-society representatives to exchange ideas on strengthening rural communities through inclusive approaches. The Social Inclusion for Rural Resilience event is organised within the framework of the ESIRA and SERIGO projects, both co-funded by the European Union and dedicated to supporting rural innovation and community-led development.\nThe policy workshop will explore how social inclusion contributes to the social and economic resilience of rural territories, in line with the “Stronger” and “Resilient” pillars of the Long-Term Vision for Rural Areas. Participants will also reflect on the current EU policy framework and assess whether existing instruments under the new Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) effectively support inclusive rural development.\nA small group of stakeholders from the European Commission and key organisations active in the fields of Social Economy and inclusion will join the discussions. This makes the workshop particularly relevant for the Territorial and Local Development (TeLD) Hub of ALDA, which focuses on fostering sustainable and inclusive communities.\nRepresenting ALDA, Rebecca Marconi will contribute to the exchanges, sharing insights from ALDA’s experience in promoting participatory governance and inclusive rural policies across Europe.\nThis initiative has been proposed to be covered under ALDA’s Flagship Migration, given its strong connection with inclusion, integration, and the empowerment of marginalised groups.\nThe agenda includes a panel on community-led initiatives promoting inclusion, as well as an interactive workshop focusing on access to services, employment, and quality housing for vulnerable groups such as women, youth, migrants, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.\nFor more details and to register here ( https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/04e84daf-5844-23b5-5fbf-dbbe1d58f6a5 ). \n📍Euromontana Offices, 2 Place du Champ de Mars, 1050 Brussels, Belgium\n\n 📆 20 November 2025 – 09:30–15:00 CET\n\n\n\n
