SUMMARY:Shared Horizons Final Event – Bridges that Connect
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nFrom 10 to 12 June 2026, the city of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, will host “Bridges that Connect”, the final event of the Shared Horizons project.\nTaking place in a city internationally recognised for its symbolic role in reconciliation and shared heritage, the event will bring together young people, project partners, experts, local authorities, cultural institutions and community representatives to reflect on the project’s achievements and future legacy.\nOver three days, participants will explore how cultural heritage can contribute to dialogue, reconciliation and democratic resilience across the Western Balkans. The programme will showcase the project’s impact through exhibitions, multimedia presentations and storytelling activities developed by young participants, highlighting the connections and networks built throughout the initiative.\nThe event will also feature panel discussions, workshops and co-creation activities focused on cultural heritage preservation, youth engagement and regional cooperation. Topics will include the role of cultural heritage in reconciliation and local development, peacebuilding through shared memory, storytelling in public spaces and the future of cultural policies in the Western Balkans.\nA highlight of the programme will be the panel “Bridging Divides: Cultural Heritage as a Driver of Reconciliation, EU Integration and Local Development in the Western Balkans”, alongside dedicated workshops on peacebuilding and democratic resilience. Participants will also take part in a heritage walk exploring Mostar’s symbolic and shared sites.\nThe final day will focus on a Co-Creation Lab on the Future of Cultural Policy in the Western Balkans, aimed at transforming dialogue into concrete recommendations and future cooperation opportunities.\nBy bringing together diverse stakeholders from across the region, the event seeks to ensure that the outcomes of Shared Horizons continue to inspire dialogue, reconciliation and cross-border cooperation well beyond the project’s conclusion.\nLearn more about ALDA’s work in the Western Balkans here ( https://www.alda-europe.eu/western-balkans/ ).\n\n\n📍Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina\n\n\n 📆 10 – 12 June 2026\n
