LDA NIS SUPPORTS THE ORGANISATION OF THE EUROPEAN MOVIES FESTIVAL, ON OCCASION OF THE “EUROPE DAY”. Nis, 8-11 May 2012

For the third time Europe Day will be celebrated in Nis with a festival of European movies.
This year LDA Nis is supporting the French Institute Nis, Media Reform Center Nis and Nis Cultural Center in organizing this event.

LDA has arranged participation in the festival for partners from Portugal, ICA – Instituto do Cinema e Audiovisual, and Denmark, International Office of the City of Aarhus.
Nine EU member states will present its culture to the public of Nis through their films. The festival will last four days, from 8th till 11th of May, with a grand opening in the presence of the Ambassador of Denmark in Serbia. During all four days, the entrance will be free of charge.

"COMMON HERITAGE AND POLICY": DEBATE PROMOTED BY EUROPEAN FEDERALIST MOVEMENT AND ALDA. Vicenza (I) 6 May 2012

A public debate on “Common heritage and Policy”, organized by the Veneto regional branch of the European Federalist Movement, in collaboration with ALDA, will take place Sunday, May 6 in Vicenza.
Water, air, energy, environment, landscape, health, education, must be considered “commons heritage”, not available for use of a part.

The management of this “common heritage” should be “personal and common,” alternative to private and public (individual Country or local authority) management.
After the introduction of Lucio Perosin, coordinator of the event, will intervene Giorgio Rivolta, professor of philosophy, Paolo Cacciari, journalist and political activist, and Matteo Roncarà, Secretary MFE Veneto.
The debate will take place at Pensionato Studenti – Residenza Universitaria “Madonna di Monte Berico”
Contrà San Marco 3  Vicenza.

PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION REFORM IN EASTERN PARTNERSHIP COUNTRIES: HOW FAR, HOW DEEP? EPC MEETING IN BRUSSELS (3 May 2012)

Mrs. Antonella Valmorbida, ALDA Director and Coordinator of the Sub Group on Local Government and Public Administration Reform of the Civil Society Forum for Eastern Partnership, was one of the speakers at the meeting on “Public Administration reform in Eastern Partnership countries: how far, how deep?”.
The event  has been organized by the EPC, European Policy Center, in Brussels (3rd of May 2012).

After the welcome speeches by Mr Eberhard Rhein, Senior Adviser, EPC, and Mr. Matti Maasikas, Permanent Representative of Estonia to the EU, other speakers were Mr. Alexei Sekarev, Project Manager, Estonian Centre of Eastern Partnership, Mr. Richard Tibbels, Head of Division for the Eastern Partnership, Regional Cooperation and OSCE, EEAS, and Mr. Keit Kasemets, Strategy Director, Government Office of Estonia.
The event was held under the auspices of the EPC’s Europe in the World programme, and has been organised in cooperation with the Permanent Representation of Estonia to the EU and the Estonian Center of Eastern Partnership.

NEW WEBSITE AND LOGO OF THE DECENTRALISED COOPERATION BETWEEN THE REGION LOWER NORMANDY AND REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA

Starting this April, the Programme for Decentralised Cooperation between the Region Lower Normandy and Republic of Macedonia has officially new website, www.bn-mk.org and logo of the cooperation.
Via its symbols and colors the logo represents territories, friendship and cooperation. It is now a new brand image of the Programme, available in three different formats and three languages: French, Macedonian and Albanian.

The new internet site is also available on these three languages. When visiting, the internet user can find various information about the cooperation, the actors and the countries it represents. It is a web site that will inform you about all the objectives of the programme through different sections (news, territories, documents, etc.).
The previous internet site http://crbn-mk.courriers.info is still visible on line and can be used as an archive of information related to the cooperation.

LDAs NIS AND MOSTAR AT THE THIRD PARTNER MEETING OF THE PROJECT ON GENDER EQUALITY. Kotor, Montenegro 22 April 2012

The third Partner meeting of the project “Promotion of the European Charter for equality between women and men at the local level” took place in Kotor (Montenegro) on the 22nd of April. LDA Nis and LDA Mostar attended to the meeting and to the activities that was held in the day before.

Members of partner organizations of the project and their stakeholders, representatives of the relevant institutions and local governments from Kotor, Mostar (BhI), Kraljevo and Nis (SRB), have participated in training activities on “Action Planning and gender equality at local level”.
Also the training was held in Kotor, from 19 to 21 of April 2012, and led by renowned lecturers from Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities of Serbia, experts for topics of gender perspective in public policy.

THE NEW EXPERIENCES OF DEMOCRATIC PARTICIPATION IN EGYPT AT THE “FESTIVAL OF CITIZENSHIP”. Padua (I) 4 May 2012

The “Festival of Citizenship“, that will take place in Padua, Italy, (4 – 13 May), will host ( 4th of May) a meeting with George Fahmy, a member of the AFA, Arab Forum for Alternatives, Cairo, and researcher at the European University Institute in Florence.
The event, organized by ALDA, will focus on the theme: “Youth and Active Citizenship, paths of democratic participation. The new experience in Egypt”. (University of Padua, Great Hall of the Palazzo Bo’, 10:30 -12:00).

The meeting is promoted in collaboration with the community Education Without Borders, ESF Centre of the former Faculty of Education of Padua, and with the Cooperative ASA.
George Fahmy is graduated and specialized in political science at the Cairo University. His research activities concern in particular the relations between state and religion in the Middle East, democratization and socio-religious movements.
Antonella Valmorbida, ALDA Director, will introduce the speaker.
ALDA will also be present Sunday, May 13 with a stand on the final day of the Festival.
Reached the fourth edition, the “Festival of citizenship” will be partner of two initiatives of the Municipality of Padua, to be held in the same period, the “Green Night of North East”, dedicated to environmental sustainability, and the “Week of the Intergenerational Dialogue”.
The Festival, promoted by the Cooperative ASA, will be a participatory event, and provides some “lectio magistralis”, workshops, exchange of best practices, and many performances.

ALDA HAS LAUNCHED A CALL FOR A TRAINEESHIP IN THE VICENZA’s OFFICE

ALDA has launched a call for a traineeship in the Vicenza’s Office, area of Projects Development. Two places are available for the period June – November 2012.  Deadline for submission of candidatures is the 15th of May 2012 and more information are available on ALDA website.

The traineeship in the projects development office takes place in Vicenza and normally lasts a minimum period of 6 months (periods shorter than 6 months may be considered case by case).
The trainees will work under the supervision of the Resource and Development Unit Coordinator of ALDA who is also the tutor responsible for the traineeship.
The main “areas” where the trainee is involved are fundraising (research for grant opportunities, periodical checks of Call for proposals and tenders) and  projects development (partnership building activities, projects drafting, preparation of the application package).
The traineeship also includes administrative and office tasks, mainly related to the preparation and the submission – but also the implementation and the reporting – of European projects.
The tasks will be defined according to the experience of the trainee and can be changed and further “develop” during the traineeship.
Requirements: university degree, languages English (French is an asset, Italian is an asset), previous experience in project development is an asset, knowledge of computer tools, ability to work in a team as well as individually, good interpersonal and communication skills, high motivation and strong interest for international decentralized cooperation.
