In the framework of the migration crisis, which is happening now in Europe and its Neighbourhood, on 8th September 2015 in Brussels, Belgium, European Civic Forum, the transnational network of associations and NGOs, launched a call to EU leaders called “Call to EU leaders for refugees welcome”, inviting other organizations to sign the letter and support the initiative.
The civil society organizations in Europe are strongly mobilized to welcome a huge number of refugees arriving to Europe every day. The aim of this call is to further strengthen the action and to provoke a faster reaction from governments and officials. The human rights are fundamental and Europe is based on this approach rejecting all kinds of racism, xenophobia or populism. The call encourages other organizations and associations to join wide network of entities to provide refugees with shelter, food and other basic needs, which they are prevented from in their countries of origin.
