A delegation from the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, in the Republic of Serbia, led by the Vice-president Nyilas Mihaly, attended the competition for schools “ Festival of Mind”, held in Unità square in Trieste. Besides Friuli-Venezia-Giulia Region, also Kiev Region (Ukraine), Olomouc (Czech Republic), Styria (Austria), and the Province of Lodz (Poland) were selected for the 2014 edition of the initiative. In 2015 the regions involved will be 15.

The Festival mainly consists in a competition among students and groups of students, who have to use their imagination and creativity to create news forms, using the 24 pieces of the so-called “ Doris’s puzzle”, invented in Vojvodina. Every image created by the students will be photographed and evaluated by an international panel of judges.

The schools from Trieste that participated to the competition were Liceo Classico Dante Alighieri and Istituto d’Arte Enrico e Umberto Nordio. The Serbian delegation, which included the Under Secretary of Education, Mato Groznica, and the puzzle creator, Zdravko Zivkovic, visited the two schools. Under Secretary Groznica stressed to ALDA Vice President, Alessandro Perelli, the role of the LDA in Subotica in promoting democratic rights, reminding also the recent visit in Novi Sad of ALDA President, Oriano Otocan, and ALDA Secretary General, Antonella Valmorbida.
