From 27th to 31st March the Mayor of the city of Colombelles, Mr. Marc Pottier accompanied by a delegation from Colombelles made an official visit to Novaci.
The cooperation between the two municipalities began in 2015 in the framework of the programme for decentralised cooperation between the region Normandy and North Macedonia. Since then, numerous activities were implemented through this cooperation on various topics such as Remembrance of the First World War and the Macedonian Front, youth, culture and cultural heritage, sustainable development and local democracy.
The 29th March 2019 was marked by the celebration of 23 years of existence of the Municipality of Novaci, and on this occasion, the mayors of the two municipalities Mr. Marc Pottier and Mr. Ljube Kuzmanoski signed an official Memorandum of cooperation. The cooperation between the two municipalities was officialised for the first time by a letter of intent on the 11th November 2016.
The two mayors reconfirmed their engagement in this fruitful cooperation and declared that the activities between the two municipalities will continue with the same dynamics on various topics of interest to the territories and their internationalisation.
During the event the Municipality of Colombelles and the European association for local democracy – ALDA received an official acknowledgement for their partnership and a rich and successful collaboration with Novaci.
ALDA is the coordinator of the programme for decentralised cooperation between the partners from the Region Normandy (France) and the Republic of North Macedonia, headed by the City of Colombelles.
