On February 24th 2016, the international seminar entitled “The socio-economic crisis and its impact on European societies and identities: how to shape social policies in today’s Europe?” took place, within the framework of the project Re.Cri.Re – Between the Representation of the Crisis and the Crisis of Representation. Oriano Otočan, president of ALDA, participated and contributed with a speech.

The objective of the seminar was an open a space for discussion between representatives of Universities and Research Centres, to identify innovative responses to the crisis through policies able to strengthen the resilience of societies, renew the European integration and identity and at the same time strengthen the sense of solidarity and the public sphere.

Regarding the impact of the crisis, Oriano Otočan, the President of ALDA, declared: “The different types of crisis in the EU and its environment that occurred in last nine-ten years have radically changed today’s Europe, European countries, a way of life of its citizens. Europe today is not what it were 15 or 20 years ago. The project Re.Cri.Re is one of ALDA´s pilot project and wants to be innovative tool to understand better today´s Europe and to contribute to bring Europe out of the social crisis”.
