Dobrica Milovanović is a member of ALDA’s Governing Board as individual member from Serbia from 2004. He also was a vice-president of ALDA (2004-2012), member of Council of Europe Congress (2005–2010, 2012-2017) as a rapporteur on Local and Regional Democracy in Belgium and as a congress observer in a number оf еlection observation missions. Moreover, he has 6 years of experience as deputy mayor of Kragujevac, 4 years of experience as President of Kragujevac City Assembly and 4 years of experience as Vice-President of Kragujevac City Assembly.
He has been involved in ALDA activities since 2001 when LDA for Central and Southern Serbia was open. Since 2004 when Mr Milovanović was elected as part of ALDA’s Governing Board he dedicated himself to ALDA mission, attending all the Bureau and Governing Board meetings and taking responsibilities for many activities such as: representing ALDA at the meetings, conferences, forums, all around, participation at LDAs assessment missions, coordination and implementation of some ALDA/LDA projects.
He believes in active promotion of ALDA/LDAs mission throughout Western Balkan countries, enlargement of LDAs and ALDA network by lobbing for new members. He is ready to strengthen local authorities’ capacities by promoting decentralization and participation of local stakeholders and civil society in decision making process as well as to promote positive development of civil society, sustainable socio and economical development and citizen participation through the work of ALDA and LDAs.
