National awareness raising campaign for labor rights among youth in Macedonia
Around 53,000 young people in Macedonia are invisible to the institutions - nobody knows where they are or if they work. Emil Krstanovski, national coordinator of the International labor organization in Macedonia presented the facts during the panel discussion “Respecting labor rights of youngsters in Macedonia” held in Skopje on 7 February 2018.
During the panel discussion, the findings of a national survey on the topic were presented. The results show that a significant number of the youngsters only partially know their labor rights and many of them revealed disrespect of their labor rights by employers.
The panel discussion was part of a national campaign “365 labor rights for the youth”, organized by Coalition of Youth Organizations SEGA and the local medium Fakulteti.mk. The campaign includes internet campaign to inform the youngsters of their labor rights, trainings, workshops, surveys and info days.
The national campaign is financially supported by the Decentralized cooperation between Normandy and Macedonia.
