Enter the contest: write your Declaration to Europe and join our FestivALDA 2021!
Every year Europe Day celebrates peace and unity in Europe, marking the moment in which the former French foreign minister Robert Schuman held his speech in Paris, on May 9th, 1950.
The Schuman Declaration set the basis for a more cooperative and united Europe, with no space for violence and hate: a Europe just like Schuman himself was imagining and acting for.
Today, after 70 years, ALDA wants to renew our love and commitment for the European project, to make it stronger and support its improvement day by day. As during Schuman’s time, the Europe we live in is not perfect, but it’s by far the best achievement we’ve accomplished as one big community, a Europe which gifted us with the longest period of peace of all times.
For this reason, ALDA is opening a call to all EU citizens (aged 18+) for a “New Declaration", to affirm once again why and how intensely the European project is relevant, and to express our wishes and thoughts for its future, our future, just like Schuman did.
Send your Declaration by November 30th to firstname.lastname@example.org. The author of the most significant Declaration will win the participation to the FestivALDA, a 3-day event taking place in spring-summer 2021 (exact dates and location TBD), where you will get the chance to read your Declaration out loud in front of all our members and partners!
Requirements: the Declaration shall be written in English and not exceed 5,000 characters (spaces excluded). For any further information, please write to: email@example.com
