ALDA’s work in the Eastern Partnership
ALDA is actively engaged in cooperation with all six Eastern Partnership countries. Currently ALDA is working actively in Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. There are LDAs in Kuatisi (Georgia), Gyumri (Armenia), Cimislia (Moldova), Dnipro and Mariupol (Ukraine). At the same time, ALDA continuous its long-lasting partnership with Lev Sapieha Foundation in Belarus which started in 2006 and ever since implemented a number of projects that contributed to community mobilization and cohesion in various cities. Since 2018, ALDA extended in Russian Federation by having Open Russia joining as a member. Thus, current strategy also incorporates our views in relation to local democracy in entire Eastern Europe.
In addition to ALDA’s own activities in Eastern Partnership countries, our organisation increased its contribution to Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum and Black Sea Synergy, where we are offering our expertise in field of Local Government and Public Administration. Another platform that we are using to promote our values in the region is the Conference of the Regional and Local Authorities for the Eastern Partnership (CORLEAP), which give us direct access to multiple stakeholders and supporters of our work.
