Caravan NEXT project: Crossing the cultural borderlines in Subotica, Serbia
On 21-24 June, 2016, project “Caravan NEXT” delivers a thematic Micro-event in Subotica (Serbia). Its main focus was to emphasise city’s interculturality, as a reflection of diverse population and historical heritage. All activities aimed to improve and facilitate the civil dialogue, polity coalitions, intercultural exchange and reciprocal understanding between the young people.
Caravan NEXT is an European project by the Social and Community Theatre (SCT)
, focused on bringing SCT events to cities and towns in a way to rethink them as broad open air venues, local art squares connected at a European level (GLOCAL level) where citizens, professionals and artists can give life to their own community theatre event to convey their messages about a core theme: Feed the future: European challenges in the new millennium.
Subotica Micro Event aimed to culturally empower the local community for a long-lasting social and cultural transformation. During the event all of the below was used for reaching the objective: intercultural workshops, photo exhibitions, theatre performances and presentation of the social community theatre concept, including the planned programme with the participation of POD Theatre Belgrade, Danilo Kis Youth Cultural Centre, Italian Cultural Centre – Piazza Italia, local secondary schools, Minority Community centres and many more.
