FroMe2EU is moving its first steps to make Europe more inclusive
The first meeting of the project FromMEtoEU – From Migrants Engagement to Europe Upgrade was held in Brussels from 8 to 10 April 2019. The training was organized by ALDA in collaboration with the lead partner Studio Progetto
and the Municipality of Etterbeek
. The training gathers civil society organisations and local authorities committed to build a new idea of Europe, stronger and focused on welfare, resulting from the intercultural dialogue. The main aim of the project is to tackle Euroscepticism by demonstrating that networks of mutual help can support local living, improve our life’s conditions and deal with future economic challenges.
The eight different countries (Albania, Belgium, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Republic of North Macedonia, Poland, Spain) covered by the consortium were represented at the International Training by a delegation of approximately 7 participants from the LAs and NGOs sectors.
The first day of the International Training was dedicated to activities related to getting to know each other better and to get a first taste of one the key thematic of the training, namely the EU values.
The second day followed with some activities which provided a deeper understanding of what the EU values are and Marco Boaria – ALDA Head of Resources and Development Unit & CEO ALDA+, highlighted the link between the EU Values and the funding programme of the EU.
In the second part of the day the participants were introduced to the second theme of the training: innovative methodologies to tell our personal story. An interesting and fascinating storytelling workshop was held by Ms Elisabetta Uroni – ALDA Head of Communications Department. The workshop made the participants develop original narratives starting from different objects and transforming them in real autobiography.
The 3 organizations held three different workshops who reflected their own peculiar way to implement projects aims at bringing the added value of migrants in our societies, thus promoting a mutual understanding in all the European societies.
FromMEtoEU International Training represented an important milestone for the future profitable cooperation amongst the members of the consortium. The baseline to start a coherent approach in implementing the local actions during the first year life of FroMEtoEU were set and the next meeting will be held in Spain in July.
