The second annual Regional Youth Forum for Local Democracy will be held from the 16th to the 18th November in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This year we expect over  80 participants, young people, representatives of local youth groups, local authorities, CSOs and CSO networks from six Western Balkan countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo*, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Albania.

The main topic of the three-day event consisting of thematic interactive debates, intercultural workshops and visit to the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina is “Towards the culture of regional dialogue and youth participation in the Balkans: Promoting youth mobility as the grounds for peace, stability and prosperity of the Western Balkans”.

Three interactive thematic panels will be organized with participation of institutional guest speakers, experts, youth workers and NGO practitioners as part of the conference on 16th November in the City Hall-Gradska Vijecnica in Mostar including the following topics:

  • Regional co-operation in the Western Balkans: present challenges and future perspectives;
  • Role of Civil society in fostering youth mobility in the Western Balkans;
  • Youth policies for enhancing regional mobility and EU integration perspectives.

The young participants will also have an opportunity to experience a study visit and “The culture of memory” training as well as a visit to the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo. The forum is organized by ALDA and 8 Balkan Local democracy Agencies, as the part of the EU funded project “Balkan regional platform for youth participation and dialogue” and the Programme for decentralised cooperation France-Balkans and Ministry of foreign affairs from France.
