After two years, the WEMIN project will end in December. One of its objectives was to bring together migrant, refugee and French women in arts & crafts workshops.

Such workshops were implemented in three cycles in Strasbourg: one was an upcycling workshop and was developed in collaboration with the association Creative Vintage; another workshop concerned embroidery, painting and herbal-dyeing and was animated by the association L’Atelier du Club; finally, the last workshop was about photography and was realised together with the association Stimultania.

To celebrate the end of these artistic workshops, ALDA organized an exhibition at the alternative gallery Syndicat Potentiel that was available for visiting from November 14th to 16th. This exhibition allowed to highlight the creations that migrant, refugee and local women had made during the workshops between July and October, as their creations were exhibited alongside photos taken during the workshops and explanatory texts.
On the evening of November 14th, in particular, the vernissage of the exhibition took place: it was a very pleasant and friendly moment thanks to the music, games, the free Lebanese food buffet and the additional upcycling workshop offered by the Creative Vintage association.
The WEMIN project aimed to implement and promote comprehensive integration model for migrant/refugee women. It worked on direct interventions in women populations through experience-sharing among partners; and addressed social, cultural, educational and professional aspects of inclusion to reach a high level of active participation.
