The campaign to get us “out of the sofa and vote for the European Parliament” in May starts now. We need to be active and request our parties and stakeholders to satisfy our expectations in bringing good, capable, and reliable candidates, who will be able represent and work for all European citizens.

I risultati del progetto “Giovani per l’Europa” presentati alle autorità regionali
Scoprire l’Unione europea e le possibilità che essa offre, avere l’opportunità di condividere la propria esperienza con i coetanei e i rappresentanti delle autorità locali, conoscere nuovi amici e capire le diverse realtà della Croazia. Il progetto “Giovani per l’Europa” è ufficialmente giunto al termine e i risultati realizzati dai giovani partecipanti delle regioni Istriana, Sisak-Moslavina e Osijek-Baranja, sono stati presentati il 24 gennaio a Osijek davanti ai rappresentanti delle autorità croate. Il progetto è finanziato dall’Unione europea nell’ambito del programma IPA INFO 2011 ed è coordinato dall’Agenzia della Democrazia Locale di Verteneglio.
L’evento finale del progetto “Giovani per l’Europa” è stato osipitato dalla scuola turistico-alberghiera di Osijek. Dopo il benvenuto del direttore dell’ADL di Osijek Miljenko Turniški e del Preside della scuola, Blaško Menalo, il progetto è stato introdotto da Nina Kapel dell’ADL di Verteneglio. Diversi sono stati gli esponenti politici che hanno preso parte all’evento per complimentarsi con tutti i partecipanti per gli ottimi risultati raggiunti. Tra cui Vladimir Ham, vice sindaco della Città di Osijek e Dragan Vulin, vice presidente della Regione Osijek-Baranja, che ha particolarmente lodato il fatto di coinvolgere i giovani in progetti formativi di questo genere. Per la Regione Sisak-Moslavina è intervenuto Ivan Kirinčić, consulente per gli Affari sociali, secondo cui il merito principale dell’iniziativa sta “nell’essere riusciti a coniugare la creatività giovanile con l’esperienza, per costruire insieme un futuro migliore”. Biljana Borzan, europarlamentare, si è detta molto soddisfatta del fatto che progetti simili si svolgano nella regione Osijek-Baranja ma anche che “bisognerebbe implementare progetti simili in tutta la Croazia. Questi progetti dovrebbero avere anche più valore nel sistema formativo perché – ha specificato – l’avere giovani informati è il punto di partenza per cancellare l’euroscetticismo e capire quali sono i vantaggi che ai giovani, ma anche ai cittadini croati in generale, riserva l’Unione europea.
La “Voce dei giovani”. I risultati dell’iniziativa sono stati interamente presentati dai giovani partecipanti, i quali hanno attivamente contribuito con le loro idee alla creazione dei materiali informativi realizzati nell’ambito delle attività progettuali. Sono stati così realizzati uno spot per la TV e uno per la radio – trasmessi dalle emittenti locali delle regioni coinvolte – un poster per la promozione di link utili e una brochure informativa. I giovani hanno anche realizzato un questionario per intervistare i giovani dai 16 ai 26 anni su tematiche quali l’occupazione, la formazione e la mobilità. Dall’analisi dei 558 questionari raccolti, è emerso che i giovani vorrebbero essere più informati sulle opportunità che gli vengono offerte dall’UE e sui progetti promossi nelle loro regioni, vorrebbero trovare lavoro in Croazia e non dover andare all’estero e avere la possibilità di partecipare agli scambi giovanili. Le opinioni dei giovani come anche i possibili suggerimenti per superare questo periodo difficile e creare un futuro migliore sono raccolti nel documento “La Voce dei giovani” che, al termine dell’evento, è stato consegnato ai rappresentanti delle autorità locali, regionali e nazionali, al signor Menalo, preside della scuola ospitante e a Irena Penko, preside della SMSI “Leonardo da Vinci” di Buie.
Partner del progetto, coordinato dall’ADL di Verteneglio, sono le Agenzie della Democrazia Locale di Osijek e Sisak, la Fondazione per l’incentivazione del partenariato e lo sviluppo della società civile di Pola, l’associazione giovanile KRID di Petrinja, il Press centar za okoliš Hrvatske, l’Europe Direct del Comune di Trieste, l’associazione Giosef Italy e l’Associazione delle Agenzie della Democrazia Locale –ALDA.

Participants in the project POPEYE visited an organic producer
Within the project POPEYE – “Promoting Organic Production, Enhancing Youth Employment“, funded by the European programme Youth in Action, the Local Democracy Agency Osijek is implementing activities in the area of Osijek-Baranja County and Vukovar-Srijem County.
On 23 December the participants, youngsters aged 15 to 25 from two Croatian counties who had attended the educational seminar on sustainable development, ecology and organic food production, visited a farm of the Trampus family from the city of Belišće, primarily engaged in organic production of agricultural products, agricultural seeds, vegetable transplants, flowers, medicinal and aromatic plants and in the cultivation and processing of lavender and tansy.
This field visit was a chance for the participants to see organic production in practice. Mrs Vera Trampus, the owner and manager of the organic farm named “Lavanda Vera”, briefly introduced the farm, its history of development and instructively introduced the participants to different sorts of herbs which she cultivates at her farm, speaking about different ways of their cultivation and about their processing and use. She also introduced the visitors to different products which are a result of the processing of these interesting and useful herbs and encouraged the participants to cultivate it themselves and to continue to study different medicinal herbs.
The Project POPEYE continues with the mapping of organic farmers in the region and with the publishing of the collected data on the webpage which is designed to be a contact point between the youth and organic producers. Ten participants from Osijek-Baranja County and Vukovar-Srijem County will participate at the final international event which will be held at the end of February in the city of Strasbourg, France. Croatian representatives at the event will have a chance to meet international participants and partners, to exchange their experiences and practices and to make contacts with international entrepreneurial world of organic agriculture.

DECIDE - Identifying and collecting measures promoting citizen participation: 24 partners at work in 14 EU and non-EU countries
As many as 24 municipalities, associations of local authorities and civil society organisations from 14 different countries in wider Europe are now identifying and collecting good practices promoting citizen participation at local and regional level. The activity has been taking place within the framework of the project DECIDE whose aim is to develop, through the establishment of a thematic network of towns and by adopting a bottom-up approach, a democratic compact, namely a set of measures that are needed in Europe to increase the quality of democracy and citizen participation.
A set of tailor-made activities such as workshops, phone interviews, questionnaires, etc. are being organised by each partner in order to collect the feedback of citizens and stakeholders on all the measures proposed. IT tools, open polls in particular, are being strongly promoted in order to also reach young people and all those who usually do not participate in local gatherings but are willing to have a say on measures affecting their involvement in public life. As final result of this process, more than 40 measures, as good practices promoting citizen participation, will be brought for discussion into the second international meeting in Bulgaria. The measures will be further analysed and systematised, as an additional step to setting the Democratic Compact.
More than 1400 persons will be directly involved in providing their feedback on the measures collected. By participating in this process, the project will promote and valorise citizens’ role in the construction of a better governance both at local and European level.
ALDA, as leading partner of the project, is now completing the identification and collection of measures promoting citizen participation at local and regional level, mainly within the Alsacian borders, and will shortly invite all stakeholders and citizens to have a say on what better transfers the principle of participatory democracy into practice.

DECIDE – Identification et rassemblement des mesures promouvant la participation citoyenne : le travail de 24 partenaires de 14 pays membres et non-membres de l’Union européenne
Non moins de 24 municipalités, associations d’autorités locales et organisations de la société civile venant de 14 pays européens identifient et rassemblent les bonnes pratiques promouvant la participation citoyenne aux niveaux local et régional. Cette démarche s’inscrit dans le cadre du projet DECIDE, dont l’objectif est de développer un pacte démocratique – à savoir un ensemble de mesures nécessaires pour améliorer la qualité de la démocratie et de la participation citoyenne en Europe – à travers la création d’un réseau thématique de villes et en adoptant une approche partant de la base.
Un ensemble d’activités sur-mesure (ateliers, entretiens téléphoniques, questionnaires, etc.) est actuellement mis en œuvre par chaque partenaire dans le but de recueillir les avis des citoyens et parties prenantes sur les mesures qui ont été proposées. L’usage d’outils informatiques (les sondages ouverts en particulier) est particulièrement mis en avant afin de toucher les jeunes et les personnes qui ne participent habituellement pas aux rassemblements locaux, mais qui sont néanmoins désireux d’avoir leur mot à dire sur les mesures à même d’affecter leur participation à la vie publique. En conclusion de ce processus, pus de 40 mesures telles que les bonnes pratiques promouvant la participation citoyenne seront débattues pendant une deuxième rencontre internationale en Bulgarie. Ces mesures feront l’objet d’une analyse et d’une systématisation approfondie, étape supplémentaire vers l’établissement du pacte démocratique.
Plus de 1400 personnes seront directement sollicitées pour donner leur avis sur les mesures choisies. Grâce à cette participation, ce projet permettra de promouvoir et de valoriser le rôle des citoyens dans la construction d’une meilleure gouvernance, tant au niveau local qu’au niveau européen.
L’ALDA, principal partenaire du projet, est sur le point d’achever cette phase d’identification et de recueillement des mesures promouvant la participation citoyenne aux échelons locaux et régionaux, principalement à la frontière alsacienne. DECIDE – Identificare misure per promuovere la partecipazione dei cittadini: 24 partner al lavoro in 14 paesi UE e non UE
Ben 24 comuni, associazioni di autorità locali e organizzazioni della società civile da 14 paesi nell’Europa allargata sono impegnate nell’identificazione di buone pratiche per promuovere la partecipazione dei cittadini a livello locale e regionale. Questa attività fa parte del progetto DECIDE, volto a sviluppare un ‘patto democratico’, vale a dire una serie di misure che aumenteranno la qualità della democrazia e della partecipazione civica in Europa, attraverso la creazione di una rete di città e l’adozione di un approccio dal basso.
Una serie di attività su misura tra cui workshops, interviste telefoniche, questionari, ecc. vengono organizzate da ogni partner del progetto, al fine di raccogliere pareri dei cittadini e degli stakeholder sulle misure proposte. Gli strumenti IT, in particolare i sondaggi aperti, sono fortemente promossi anche al fine di raggiungere i giovani e tutti coloro che spesso non prendono parte agli incontri locali, ma sono intenzionati ad esprimersi riguardo le misure che hanno un impatto sulla propria partecipazione alla vita pubblica. Come risultato finale di questo processo, oltre 40 misure per favorire la partecipazione dei cittadini verranno discusse durante il secondo evento internazionale in Bulgaria. Le misure saranno quindi analizzate e sistematizzate, per avvicinarsi al ‘patto democratico’.
Oltre 1.400 persone saranno coinvolte direttamente e si esprimeranno sulle misure raccolte. Partecipando a questo processo, il progetto valorizzerà il ruolo dei cittadini nella costruzione di un governo migliore, sia a livello locale, che europeo.
ALDA, che coordina il progetto, sta completando l’identificazione e la raccolta di misure per promuovere la partecipazione a livello locale e regionale, particolarmente in Alsazia, e inviterà presto gli stakeholder e i cittadini a dire la loro su quali possono avere un effetto positivo e mettere la democrazia partecipativa in pratica.

DECIDE – Определить меры для продвижения участия граждан: 24 партнера за работой в 14 странах ЕС и не ЕС
Целых 24 муниципалитета, ассоциации местных властей и организации гражданского общества из 14 стран в расширенной Европе заняты определением рекомендуемых практик для того, чтобы продвигать участие граждан на местном и региональном уровне. Эта деятельность является частью проекта DECIDE, направленного на развитие ‘демократического соглашения’, то есть серии мер, которые увеличат качество демократии и гражданского участия в Европе, через создание сети городов и принятие подхода снизу.
Серия специально разработанных мероприятий, среди которых рабочие группы, телефонные интервью, анкеты, и так далее, организованы каждым партнером проекта, для того, чтобы собрать мнения граждан и участников о предложенных мерах. Средства IT, главным образом открытые опросы, активно продвигаются и с той целью, чтобы достичь молодежи и всех тех, кто часто не принимают участие в местных встречах, но готовы выразиться в отношении мер, которые влияют на их участие в общественной жизни. В качестве конечного результата этого процесса, более 40 мер для поддержки участия граждан будут обсуждены в течение второго международного мероприятия в Болгарии. Таким образом, меры будут проанализированы и систематизированы, чтобы приблизиться к ‘демократическому соглашению ’.
Более 1.400 человек будут вовлечены напрямую и выразят мнение о собранных мерах. Участвуя в этом процессе, проект придаст значимость роли граждан в строительстве лучшего правительства, как на местном, так и на европейском уровне.
ALDA, координирующая проект, завершает определение и сбор мер для продвижения участия на местном и региональном уровне, особенно в Эльзасе, и скоро предложит участникам и гражданам высказаться о том, какие могут быть положительные эффекты и применить партиципаторную демократию на практике.

DECIDE – identifikovanje i prikupljanje mera koje promovišu učešće građana: 24 partnera iz 14 država Evrope
24 opštine, asocijacije lokalnih vlasti i organizacija civilnog društva iz 14 različitih zemalja Evrope identifikuju i prikupljaju dobre prakse promovisanja učešća građana na lokalnom i regionalnom nivou. Aktivnost se odvija u okviru projekta DECIDE čiji je cilj razvoj, kroz uspostavljanje tematske mreže gradova i usvajanjem principa demokratskog sporazuma (Compact), odnosno skupa mera koje su potrebne u cilju da se u Evropi poveća kvalitet demokratije i učešća građana.
Set aktivnosti, kao što su radionice, telefonski intervjui, upitnici i sl., se organizuju od strane svakog partnera u cilju prikupljanja povratnih informacija od građana i zainteresovanih strana o svim predloženim merama. IT alatke, posebno otvorene ankete, se snažno promovišu u cilju dopiranja do mladih ljude i svih onih koji obično ne učestvuju na lokalnim skupovima, ali su spremni da se izjasne o merama koje utiču na njihovo učešće u javnom životu. Kao krajnji rezultat ovog procesa, više od 40 mera, kao dobre prakse koje promovišu učešće građana, biće iznešene na diskusiju na drugom međunarodnom sastanku u Bugarskoj. Mere će biti dalje analizirane i sistematizovane, kao dodatni korak ka uspostavljanju Demokratskog sporazuma (Compact).
Više od 1400 osoba će biti direktno uključene u pružanju povratnih informacija o prikupljenim merama. Učešćem u ovom procesu, projekat će promovisati i vrednovati ulogu građana u izgradnji boljeg upravljanja, kako na lokalnom tako i na evropskom nivou .
ALDA, kao vodeći partner projekta je sada završava identifikaciju i prikupljanje mera koje promovišu učešće građana na lokalnom i regionalnom nivou, uglavnom u okviru granica Alsace regije, i uskoro će pozvati sve zainteresovane strane i građane da kažu šta bolje prenosi princip participativne demokratije u praksu.

DECIDE – Identificare misure per promuovere la partecipazione dei cittadini: 24 partner al lavoro in 14 paesi UE e non UE
Ben 24 comuni, associazioni di autorità locali e organizzazioni della società civile da 14 paesi nell’Europa allargata sono impegnate nell’identificazione di buone pratiche per promuovere la partecipazione dei cittadini a livello locale e regionale. Questa attività fa parte del progetto DECIDE, volto a sviluppare un ‘patto democratico’, vale a dire una serie di misure che aumenteranno la qualità della democrazia e della partecipazione civica in Europa, attraverso la creazione di una rete di città e l’adozione di un approccio dal basso.
Una serie di attività su misura tra cui workshops, interviste telefoniche, questionari, ecc. vengono organizzate da ogni partner del progetto, al fine di raccogliere pareri dei cittadini e degli stakeholder sulle misure proposte. Gli strumenti IT, in particolare i sondaggi aperti, sono fortemente promossi anche al fine di raggiungere i giovani e tutti coloro che spesso non prendono parte agli incontri locali, ma sono intenzionati ad esprimersi riguardo le misure che hanno un impatto sulla propria partecipazione alla vita pubblica. Come risultato finale di questo processo, oltre 40 misure per favorire la partecipazione dei cittadini verranno discusse durante il secondo evento internazionale in Bulgaria. Le misure saranno quindi analizzate e sistematizzate, per avvicinarsi al ‘patto democratico’.
Oltre 1.400 persone saranno coinvolte direttamente e si esprimeranno sulle misure raccolte. Partecipando a questo processo, il progetto valorizzerà il ruolo dei cittadini nella costruzione di un governo migliore, sia a livello locale, che europeo.
ALDA, che coordina il progetto, sta completando l’identificazione e la raccolta di misure per promuovere la partecipazione a livello locale e regionale, particolarmente in Alsazia, e inviterà presto gli stakeholder e i cittadini a dire la loro su quali possono avere un effetto positivo e mettere la democrazia partecipativa in pratica.

DECIDE – Определить меры для продвижения участия граждан: 24 партнера за работой в 14 странах ЕС и не ЕС
Целых 24 муниципалитета, ассоциации местных властей и организации гражданского общества из 14 стран в расширенной Европе заняты определением рекомендуемых практик для того, чтобы продвигать участие граждан на местном и региональном уровне. Эта деятельность является частью проекта DECIDE, направленного на развитие ‘демократического соглашения’, то есть серии мер, которые увеличат качество демократии и гражданского участия в Европе, через создание сети городов и принятие подхода снизу.
Серия специально разработанных мероприятий, среди которых рабочие группы, телефонные интервью, анкеты, и так далее, организованы каждым партнером проекта, для того, чтобы собрать мнения граждан и участников о предложенных мерах. Средства IT, главным образом открытые опросы, активно продвигаются и с той целью, чтобы достичь молодежи и всех тех, кто часто не принимают участие в местных встречах, но готовы выразиться в отношении мер, которые влияют на их участие в общественной жизни. В качестве конечного результата этого процесса, более 40 мер для поддержки участия граждан будут обсуждены в течение второго международного мероприятия в Болгарии. Таким образом, меры будут проанализированы и систематизированы, чтобы приблизиться к ‘демократическому соглашению ’.

DECIDE – identifikovanje i prikupljanje mera koje promovišu učešće građana: 24 partnera iz 14 država Evrope
24 opštine, asocijacije lokalnih vlasti i organizacija civilnog društva iz 14 različitih zemalja Evrope identifikuju i prikupljaju dobre prakse promovisanja učešća građana na lokalnom i regionalnom nivou. Aktivnost se odvija u okviru projekta DECIDE čiji je cilj razvoj, kroz uspostavljanje tematske mreže gradova i usvajanjem principa demokratskog sporazuma (Compact), odnosno skupa mera koje su potrebne u cilju da se u Evropi poveća kvalitet demokratije i učešća građana.
Set aktivnosti, kao što su radionice, telefonski intervjui, upitnici i sl., se organizuju od strane svakog partnera u cilju prikupljanja povratnih informacija od građana i zainteresovanih strana o svim predloženim merama. IT alatke, posebno otvorene ankete, se snažno promovišu u cilju dopiranja do mladih ljude i svih onih koji obično ne učestvuju na lokalnim skupovima, ali su spremni da se izjasne o merama koje utiču na njihovo učešće u javnom životu. Kao krajnji rezultat ovog procesa, više od 40 mera, kao dobre prakse koje promovišu učešće građana, biće iznešene na diskusiju na drugom međunarodnom sastanku u Bugarskoj. Mere će biti dalje analizirane i sistematizovane, kao dodatni korak ka uspostavljanju Demokratskog sporazuma (Compact).
Više od 1400 osoba će biti direktno uključene u pružanju povratnih informacija o prikupljenim merama. Učešćem u ovom procesu, projekat će promovisati i vrednovati ulogu građana u izgradnji boljeg upravljanja, kako na lokalnom tako i na evropskom nivou .
ALDA, kao vodeći partner projekta je sada završava identifikaciju i prikupljanje mera koje promovišu učešće građana na lokalnom i regionalnom nivou, uglavnom u okviru granica Alsace regije, i uskoro će pozvati sve zainteresovane strane i građane da kažu šta bolje prenosi princip participativne demokratije u praksu.

"The role of citizens in Building Open and Plural Societies"
The Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) hosted a meeting entitled ‘The Role of Citizens in Building Open and Plural Societies’ in Tunis. Hundreds of civil society leaders and experts, representatives of ALF National Networks, and key partner institutions coming from 18 countries took a closer look at the challenges that Arab countries have to face three years after the begin of the Arab Spring. Mr Andreu Claret, ALF Executive Director, declared “the exercise of dialogue and participation is in line with the values and objectives of the Anna Lindh Foundation, an institution that promotes intercultural dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean space”.
ALDA fully supports the ALF approach as it is convinced that the participation of social society at the process of political and social change in some Arab countries, can reinforce the euro-Mediterranean cooperation process.
Since 2012, within the “Programme Tournesol” (Sunflower), ALDA decided to strengthen its activities towards South and East of the Mediterranean bank, particularly in Tunisia. By reinforcing its relationships with the ALF France Network and future joint project, ALDA aims at supporting the participation of civil society to local decision-making processes, by also helping local authorities to be more open and transparent, and encouraging them to take into account the needs of the civil society and of the citizens.

Working Together for Development – Recommendations for development
Liaising with the results of the European Year of Citizens 2013 and looking ahead at the 2015 the European Year of Development, there is an urgent need for joint efforts in promoting citizens’ empowerment and supporting Civil Society and Local Authorities.
ALDA being particularly active in both active citizenship and development cooperation with its partners, is happy to share with you the Final recommendations for development (Engleski i francuski) that resulted from the fruitful exchanges and discussions held recently in Vilnius, during an international event organised in the framework of the Working Together for Development (WTD) project, a multi-partner EU funded project for development currently being implemented.
The recommendations deal with the important role of Local Authorities and Civil Society Organisations, and the synergies that need to be established when it comes to development issues at local level. We feel that those recommendations present an important framework within which we should all, including the EU and other stakeholders, be working within.
We also invite you to take a look at all the projects which have been implemented in Latvia within the re-granting scheme of WTD, to deeply impact at local level by strengthening cooperation among LAs and CSOs.

ALDA, particulièrement active dans les domaines de la citoyenneté et la coopération au développement avec ses partenaires, est heureuse de partager avec vous les Recommandations finales pour le développement (Français et Anglais) qui sont le fruit des débats et échanges récents à Vilnius, lors d’un événement international organisé dans le cadre du projet WTD (Working Together for Development), un projet multi-annuel financé par l’UE pour le développement qui est en cours.

Conference “Populism and Democracy in Europe”
Na 31sv January, a conference on “Populism and Democracy in Europe” took place in Vicenza, hosted in the City Hall.
ALDA’s Director Antonelle Valmorbida, and the Secretary of the European Federalist Movement Fabio Pietribiasi opened the discussions, enriched by several experienced speakers’ contributions.
Lucio Battistotti, Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Italy, analysed the evolution of the federalism – both in Italy and in Europe – and underlined the importance of the principle of subsidiarity in creating a deeper commitment between the State and the European Union.

The sociologist Alessandro Cavalli, Professor at Pavia University, shared his views on the populism, and its development and impact on society. He highlighted the main features of this phenomenon, mentioning the differences and the points in common of the various populist movements.
The President of the European Federalist Movement Lucio Levi spoke about the cleavage now existing between the global economic market and democracy, which is still local and national. According Mr. Levi this is the main cause of nowadays economic crisis, and the solution should be a deeper political commitment by the States. Giving to the European Union more competence and jurisdiction should be the correct answer to tackle the crisis. In fact, trying to recreate a national and isolated state would not be the solution, even if political Euroscepticic movements are insisting more and more.

Le 31 janvier s’est tenue une conférence sur le thème « Populisme et démocratie en Europe » à l’hôtel de ville de Vicenza.
Antonella Valmorbida, Directrice de l’ALDA, et Fabio Pietribiasi, Secrétaire du Mouvement fédéraliste européen, ont ouvert une discussion par la suite enrichie par les contributions des intervenants.

The sociologist Alessandro Cavalli, Professor at Pavia University, shared his views on the populism, and its development and impact on society. He highlighted the main features of this phenomenon, mentioning the differences and the points in common of the various populist movements.
The President of the European Federalist Movement Lucio Levi spoke about the cleavage now existing between the global economic market and democracy, which is still local and national. According Mr. Levi this is the main cause of nowadays economic crisis, and the solution should be a deeper political commitment by the States. Giving to the European Union more competence and jurisdiction should be the correct answer to tackle the crisis. In fact, trying to recreate a national and isolated state would not be the solution, even if political Euroscepticic movements are insisting more and more.

CONCORD is the European NGO confederation for relief and development, and it represents the major stakeholder on policy making as for the European association working in this field.
ALDA has been associated member for many years now and since the beginning of February our Director, Antonella Valmorbida, is chairing ad interim the EPAN Working Group. This position was approved by the Steering Committee of the Working Group and will be ratified at the next Plenary Meeting. The EPAN group is composed of 70 NGOs from all over Europe engaged in Development cooperation and interested to strengthen activities and knowledge as for Eastern and South Eastern Europe is concerned.
The Working Group elaborate ideas and policies to share with the policy making processes established by Concord. This role will be of particular importance in 2014 while preparing the European Year on Development in 2015 and the Post MDGs. The Convener of the group is Nafisa Hasanova, from the NGO Aprodev.
