On the 15 of March, Skopje was hosting a unique exhibition on the topic of the First World War. What made the exhibition unique is the fact that all the artists were high school students, who were part of ALDA Skopje project, “First World War and youth – peace and reconciliation”.

Students from Bitola, Skopje, Strumica, Bogdanci, Dojran and Tetovo participated in a field visit and interactive workshops on the topic of First World War. This activity helped to build up their knowledge of the historical period in their country. Afterwards, inspired by the topic the students worked on their personal art projects.

The project “First World War and youth – peace and reconciliation” aimed to raise awareness on conflicts and reconciliation among students. This was achieved through studying the First World War events in Macedonia, British contribution on the battlefield and the lessons about peace, learned from the conflict.

The project was implemented by ALDA Skopje and supported by the British Embassy in Skopje.
