
On 26th November, at the Council of Europe, a meeting was held between ALDA and a delegation from the “Maison de l’Europe de Caen Basse-Normandie”, led by Mrs. Camille Franceschi.
The meeting was included in the framework of their visit to the European Institutions, and it represented an occasion to present ALDA, its mission, objectives and links with the European Institutions.
ALDA was represented by Mrs. Anne-Laure Joedicke, Project Manager of ALDA for the MENA region, who gave an introduction about the Council of Europe (CoE) mentioning the Congress of CoE and the opening of the first Local Democracy Agency in Subotica. After the overview on the historical background, the focus was put on the thematic approach of ALDA, its Multilateral Decentralised Cooperation, its actions and its link to the European Institutions.
Furthermore, some concrete examples of ALDA’s activities were presented, such as the complex framework of LADDER Project. During the meeting a witness of an ex intern of ALDA, Mrs. Giulia Campani, was also reported, presenting two of the projects she had the opportunity to implement side by side with her tutor: EYES – European Youth Environment Sentinels and CHARM – Creativity and Healthy style: Advancing the Role of Music.
