On Thursday 20th of September, ALDA hosted in Strasbourg the first dissemination event of the project WEMIN (Migrant Women Empowerment and Integration), which is a two-year project funded by the “Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund” (AMIF) of the European Union.

A dozen women from every corner of the world (Moldova, Georgia, Afghanistan, Algeria, Iran, Angola, Turkey, France and Spain) got together to celebrate the beginning of the project. They were some of the more than 40 women that will take part at the sociolinguistic courses offered in the framework of the project. They will also benefit from future activities such as mentoring and empowerment sessions or artistic workshops, along with women from the local community.
ALDA staff presented the project: its aim, all planned activities and the ways in which women can engage. These migrant and refugee women have recently arrived to France, therefore they will benefit from the project to get actively integrated in Strasbourg. After the presentation, everyone got together to have a coffee break, while getting to know each other.
