ALDA celebrated the Human Rights Day last 10th December in Paris with the International Conference “Human Rights and Intercultural Dialogue in Development”. The Conference was attended by 60 participants representing Local Authorities and CSOs coming from the enlarged Europe. The conference has been organized within the framework of the WTD – Working Together for Development programme.

The discussion focused on the linkages between Human Rights and global development which aimed at having a reflexion on a way to have a better international action in the field of development. It was moderated by Ms Antonella Valmorbida, Director of ALDA, and gathered relevant speakers from different professional backgrounds. Among them Mrs Catherine Lalumière, President of the French Federation of the Houses of Europe, Mr Pierre Barge,  Honorary President of the European Association for the Defense of Human Rights (AEDH), Mr Christoph Eberhard, Professor in Anthropology and Theory of the Law at the University of Saint Louis in Brussels and Mr. Ljubo Beslic, Mayor of the City of Mostar.
The WTD – Working Together for Development programme aims at exploring the opportunities Local Authorities and Civil Society Organizations have in working together to promote more sustainable global development achievements.
