“CARAVAN. Artists on the Road” – community theatre performance in Vicenza, 27 September
On Friday 27 September at 19:00, after the inauguration of ALDA new office in Vicenza, the Bulgarian theatre Vazrajdane performed the piece ‘Summer Night Awakening’.
The show was part of “CARAVAN. Artists on the Road”, a project of community theatre involving 11 cultural organizations from 9 European countries. The aim of the project is the promotion of culture as a sustainable answer to the economic and social crisis that affects European citizens. The project is led by the CRT Foundation from Turin, and ALDA is an important partner: this is why one of the shows of the tour from Sofia to Torino took place in Vicenza, with the collaboration of the municipality.
The main focus of the show was domestic violence, brought up by the inner crisis of communication and morality values affiliated to the economic crisis that we witness. Its aim was to bring hope and strength to all those who have been direct and indirect victims of domestic violence.
The show was particularly involving and interactive, and at the end the actors unrolled the Community Canvas – a white paper roll on which spectators wrote their thoughts and positive ideas to fight domestic violence.
