ALDA has been invited by Brulocalis to participate to the opening day of the European Local Democracy Week!

***

The opening session of the ELDW saw the organization of a tool fair, in which Brussels municipalities and relevant associations used their booths to promote their activities. At ALDA’s stand project manager Mihaela Onofras, together with Project Manager Assistants Patricia Bachmaier and Josephine Proehl, offered ordinary citizens and local authorities’ delegates an insight into ALDA’s work and efforts to promote good governance and citizens’ participation across the enlarged Europe and Northern Africa!

Following the tool fair, participants joined a 2 hours dialogue table organized to promote the dialogue between local authorities and constituencies, after which participants had the opportunity to further develop their networks.

The “European Local Democracy Week” (ELDW) is an annual European event co-ordinated by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities. Local authorities and associations from all the 47 member States of the Council of Europe have joined this year’s edition.

The initiative aims at disseminating the Council of Europe universal values of democracy and human rights, while also offering the participants the opportunity to join a European network engaged in the promotion of citizen participation at the local level.
