
The Governing Board of the Balkan Network for Local Democracy (BNLD) was held in Knjazevac, Serbia, from 10 to 12 September 2019. This was the first meeting of the Governing board after the legal establishment of the Network.
The BNLD members, ALDA and LDAs from Western Balkan countries used this opportunity to discuss a variety of questions important for the Network, such as fundraising plan, visibility, partnerships for the network as well as the internal structuring of the network.
During the meeting chaired by the President of the BNLD, Mr. Elbert Krasniqi, the GB members were briefed about the registration process and all the technical issues by the Executive director, Ms. Ivana Petrovska. The discussions during the meeting also included policy making issues of significance for the network as well as sharing ideas for projects and future activities. The next meeting of BNLD will take in Pristina in November where will be organized the official public launching of the Network.
Balkan Network for local democracy (BNLD) is a Network created by ALDA and the LDAs from Western Balkan countries with the mission to promote local democracy and regional cooperation in the perspective of EU integration of the Western Balkans through the empowerment of civil society and local authorities. The Network was registered in Skopje in June 2019.
