Skopje was the centre of culture from the 14th to the 18th of March. The European Association for Local Democracy organized a micro event within the project Caravan Next, in cooperation with Lokomotiva Skopje and Theatre of Navigator Cvetko from Skopje.
The micro event focused on the “Theatre of the oppressed” of Augusto Boal, using the three theatrical forms: Image theatre, Invisible theatre and Forum theatre. Numerous activities and performances were organized following the practices of Boal. The series of events was wrapped up with a Forum theatre open to the public, which left the floor to the audience to participate in the theatre and express their opinion.
Within the event, two lectures open to the public were held: one by prof. Rita Maria Fabris from the University of Torino and other by prof. Zoja Buzalkovska from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje, who also delivered the workshops for the actors and leaded the performances.
The project Caravan Next has the aim to connect artists to the local community and the citizens through art. The project is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union. The micro event in Skopje is the final international event organized by ALDA, following the events in Subotica and Mostar.
