ALDA Skopje is looking for one Macedonian youngster (18-30 years) to be volunteer in Vicenza, Italy. Within the project #Welcome, the Italian organisation Insieme cooperativa sociale ONLUS will host one European volunteer from Macedonia for one year from July 2016.

During this EVS (European Volunteer Service), the young Macedonian selected will participate in those main activities:
- Youth field: promotion of Youth projects, like the Social Day project, to raise awareness of young people about volunteering (www.socialday.org); and the Human Library project (www.humanlibrary.org). These activities are run in cooperation with schools.
- Social Bar: the Cooperative manages a social bar to improve its links with the local community with themed evening, and cultural events promoting sustainable development. The volunteer can propose initiatives to make the bar more original (i.e. organising concerts, art exhibitions, reading, cultural events, workshops, etc.). The volunteer will also help the Staff members of the bar to prepare the daily lunches for all the colleagues.
- Reconditioning of goods: the Cooperative reclaims used goods to be inserted in the market, part of them needs a “handcraft intervention”, to give them new life (furniture and wood objects restoration, textile laboratory, etc.). The volunteer will learn manufacturing techniques, and will work with disadvantaged people. Furthermore, the volunteer will get the satisfaction to see his/her works on sale in the Cooperative shop!
- Pensiero unico: the volunteer will help the staff members by setting up the second hand shop to make it appealing, proposing and arranging thematic exhibitions (i.e. “toys”, “books”, etc.), following the whole process of items, from the delivery of a citizen to the final sale, creating activities in the children area, participating in the promotional events and workshops, etc.
All activities listed are run in cooperation with disadvantaged people (coming from different backgrounds, for example former detainees, former drug or alcohol addicted people, etc.) providing them a job that could become an educational programme.
The precise timetable will be discussed with the staff and with the project coordinator, to meet the organisation’s needs as well as the volunteer’s wishes. The service foresees: 30 service hours/week, 5 days per week, 2 days off per week and 2 days of holiday per month.
The EVS is open to all Macedonian youngsters from 18 to 30 years all interested to participate in international volunteering project in Italy.
According to the rules of the Erasmus plus programme, the project covers the EVS’s expenses for travel (up to 275 EUR for round ticket) as well as the living expenses for Vicenza.
Project dates: 7th July 2016 – 6th July 2017 (12 months)
