On 8th June 2015, the closing conference of the project TOPSA Patras took place. The project aimed at the activation and mobilization of local bodies for ensuring the creation of job placements for unemployed engineers and social scientists (target group- 80 beneficiaries). TOPSA Patras focused on the needs and the specificity of the labour market of the city and the region of Patras, in Western Greece.

The project involved the Municipality of Patras, the Social Organisation of the Municipality of Patras – KODIP, the University of Patras, “PRACTICA Western Greece” Vocational Training Centre, “EUROTEAM” Vocational Training Centre, Technical Chamber of Greece – Branch of Western Greece, and DATA RESEARCH & CONSULTING SA. ALDA represented the international partner. Also in July 2014 the Association organized a study visit in Vicenza and, besides, has been in charge of drafting a publication about the System of Social Cooperatives in Italy, which will be disseminated in Greece.

In the final conference, the main partners of the project were present as speakers and ALDA was represented by Mr Mattia Brazzale. The other speakers were Dimitris Skouras, Dimitris Tzelepis, and Konstantinos Tsekouras (University of Patras), Chrissa Geraga (TOPSA Project Manager and Head of ADEP Programming-Networking and International Affairs Department). The second panel of the conference involved representatives of Italian social cooperatives (e.g. ALDA Member, Consorzio Leonardo, and Karpòs social cooperative) as well as some representatives of the business sector of Patras.

During the event ALDA had the opportunity to strengthen the relation with its member the City of Patras, and with the major local partners of the project.

In the framework of the visit, ALDA representative Mattia Brazzale also met the Mayor of Patras, Mr. Kostas Peletidis. Read more about the meeting here.
