
The University Centre for Human Rights of the University of Padua is pleased to invite you to the Annual Conference of the Associazione Universitaria Studi Europei (AUSE) that will take place at the University of Padua on 5 and 6 May 2014 on the theme “Representative Democracy and Political Participation. Towards a transnational European party system”.

The Conference is organised in the framework of the Jean Monnet Programme of the European Commission – Education, Audiovisual and Culutre Executive Agency (EACEA).
The Conference is divided into four sessions
Session 1 – Towards the 2014 European Parliament elections

Session 2 – Towards a transnational European party system

Session 3 – Towards a more active European citizenship

Session 4 – Political parties and civil society organisations in the democratic transition in the Southern Mediterranean countries

The Associazione Universitaria di Studi Europei, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, is part of the European Community Studies Association network, ECSA-World, and represents over 100 Italian professors and researchers who teach and do research in the field of European integration. The main aims of the Association are the promotion of university teaching and research in the field of European studies, the development of collaboration among members and the expansion of university cooperation in Europe and worldwide, the management of transnational research programmes, technical assistance and advice on European integration, and the publication of scientific works on the European Union.
