This publication is the achievement of several years of intensive work and commitment to women’s rights, carried out through the PARFAIT project.
It features the testimonies of many actors who have actively participated in the project, such as elected women who have followed coaching sessions delivered by the PARFAIT project, and reveals all the initiatives carried out by local Tunisian associations on gender equality.
This publication is intended to be a real motivational and inspiring tool for all those reading it, especially women and civil society actors, from Tunisia and elsewhere. It is also addressed to Tunisian ministries and donors through the recommendations drawn from the lessons learned during the 30 months of the project, in the hope of giving a further push towards the achievement of full gender equality in Tunisia, starting at the local level!
The PARFAIT project is co-funded by the European Union through the EuropeAid programme, led by ALDA in partnership with the Coalition for Women of Tunisia, European Partnership for Democracy Tunisia and the Local Democracy Agency Tunisia, and was implemented in Tunisia (governorates of Tunis, Jendouba, Mahdia, Gafsa, Kairouan and Kébili) from October 2017 to April 2020.
