Since then, 3 triannual programmes have been implemented with local governance at the heart of its projects through the partnerships of elected officials and stakeholders on both territories and exchange of experiences and practices on the process of decentralisation. This innovative cooperation was for a long time France’s most significant decentralised cooperation in the Balkans exemplified by its stability and its wide reach. Since 2016 the City of Colombelles acts as the lead partner in charge of the cooperation between the partners from Normandy and Macedonia with ALDA as delegate lead partner.
