In the framework of the program for Decentralised cooperation between the Lower Normandy Region and Republic of Macedonia, the official tourism delegation from Lower Normandy visited the South-West Region in Macedonia from July 3 to July 8, 2011.
The Lower Normandy delegation met several Macedonian tourism actors and discussed the first steps toward cooperation with the South-West Region-

This study visit contributed in validating possible points of cooperation in tourism, such as hosting, heritage evaluation, identification of thematic tourism etc. The experience, skills and expertise from the Normand side will be exchanged with the South-West region actors and institutions.
This study visit included several key points in Macedonian tourism, such as the cities of Ohrid, Struga and Kicevo, nearby villages and communities of Vevcani, Drugovo, Manastirec, etc. This exploratory mission will contribute in validating possible areas of cooperation in tourism fields, develop and share experiences with the institutions of the South-West region in Macedonia and reinforce the programme for decentralised cooperation between the Lower Normandy region and Republic of Macedonia, coordinated by the Association of local democracy agencies (ALDA).
