Public consultation on EU citizenship – Europeans have their say!
Are you a citizen of an EU country?
Then you are also a citizen of the European Union! This gives you a number of key rights, such as the right to move and reside freely in the EU, the right to vote and stand as a candidate in European and municipal elections in another EU country where you live, and the right not to be discriminated against on the basis of your nationality.
In order to detect and remove the obstacles that prevent citizens to enjoy their EU citizenship rights in their daily life, the Justice and Consumers Dictatorate General of the European Commission launched a public consultation, inviting all EU citizens, organisations and other stakeholders concerned with advancing EU citizenship to share their opinions and experience on matters related to their rights as an EU citizen.
You can make a difference! This is your chance to have your say: tell us what matters to you and how things can be made better!
How can you participate?
In order to contribute to the consultation, please fill out the online questionnaire by 7th December 2015 and spread the news to others who may wish to participate and express their views.
