Citizens' participation at the core of an upcoming event organised by ALDA in Spain.

ALDA is organizing, in cooperation with IDEAT, the event "PARTICIPACIÓN CIUDADANA UNA NUEVA FORMA DE GESTIONAR LA CIUDAD" (Citizens participation: new ways to manage the cities)  which will take place in Torrent, Spain, the next 13th of February.

The purpose of this day is to inspire and share good practices in citizen participation in Spain and in other cities or regions of Europe. Many times, in fact, methodologies and tools can be transferred easily to other cities if there is a political will.

The event will also feature a discussion with different experts on how the management of cities has changed in the last years with respect to these aspects.
The event is motivated by the current increase in the extremist and anti-european movements sometimes caused by the feeling of abandonment experimented by many citizens.
In response to this situation, ALDA and its partners believe that the initiatives that seek the involvement of citizens in decision making to promote more transparent policies are crucial to preserving the European values along with the same democracy.
